Ireland has certainly mastered the art of building golf course/hotel complexes in revent years with the K Club and Mount Juliet. Tulfarris is another successful example built over three peninsulas overlooking Blessington Lakes in the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains.
Natural water, in the form of Poulaphouca Lake forms an integral part of the course. At the par 4 7th, the tee shot is hit over the lake and then via a dog leg to a green well protected by bunkers.
Charlie McQueen, wrote, in Irish Golf Review, " Tulfarris, even in its infancy, is superbly equipped to stage a major European Tour event a short few years into the new millennium.” The Irish Seniors Open Championship was held here in May 2000.
